In India, where families often seek pets that are gentle and good with kids, choosing the right breed is crucial. Here, we'll explore some of the most child-friendly dog breeds in India, their characteristics, categories, and the grooming they require.

Beagles are also known for their loyalty and are easy to train, making them a great choice for families looking for a dog that can easily integrate into their home.

Boxer

Boxers are medium to large-sized dogs known for their playful and energetic nature. They are great with kids and are highly protective of their families, making them excellent guard dogs. Boxers are also highly intelligent and easy to train, making them a great choice for families looking for a dog that can be easily trained to follow commands.

Pugs are also low maintenance when it comes to grooming, making them a great choice for families looking for a dog that is easy to care for.

Breed Characteristics

When choosing a child-friendly dog breed, it's essential to consider the breed's characteristics. Look for breeds that are known for their friendly and gentle nature, as well as their patience and tolerance for children. Additionally, consider the breed's size, energy level, and grooming requirements to ensure they are a good fit for your family's lifestyle.

Categories of Child-Friendly Dog Breeds

Child-friendly dog breeds can be categorized based on their size, energy level, and temperament. Small to medium-sized breeds, such as Beagles and Pugs, are often more suitable for families with younger children, as they are easier to handle and less likely to accidentally injure a child during play. Larger breeds, such as Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers, are better suited for families with older children who can handle their size and energy levels.

Level of Grooming Required

When choosing a child-friendly dog breed, it's essential to consider the grooming requirements of the breed. Some breeds, such as Pugs and Beagles, have short coats that require minimal grooming, making them ideal for families looking for a low-maintenance pet. Other breeds, such as Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers, have longer coats that require regular grooming to prevent matting and tangles.

In conclusion, choosing a child-friendly dog breed in India involves considering various factors, including the breed's characteristics, categories, and grooming requirements. Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Beagles, Boxers, and Pugs are some of the most popular child-friendly dog breeds in India, known for their friendly nature, patience with children, and adaptability to family life. By selecting the right breed for your family, you can ensure a harmonious and loving relationship between your children and their canine companion.

Brushing is very important exercise to keep your dog coat healthy and shiny. It improves overall coat health of dog and make them mentally healthy. It is the first step to properly take care of dog’s coat.  In this article we will study the step-by-step guide to properly brush dogs coat.

grooming tips for Dog

Step1:  General Handling:

It is very necessary to make your dog comfortable before you start brushing. This step should generally start while your dog is still a puppy as early training is very easy rather than training while they are adult.

Start by patting and stroking different parts of their body, praise and award with treat to make them calm and easy to handle. Start from patting them on chest are, shoulders, sides and gradually move towards the back. Once they are comfortable try touching each leg, lift their paws slightly one by one and gently touch the footpads and nails and also ears and under the chin. Most of the puppy will allow you to do but if they are aggressive or over reacting best was to control them is by giving them treat of their choice.

Step 2: Introduction with Brush:

Before introduction one must ensure to select right kind of Brush as per the coat of Dog. If you are a dog owner than you are probably aware that dogs are curious and they will treat brush as a toy or anything which is available to chew. So, it becomes important to associate Brush with something that is pleasant. Start with introduction of Brush with Tasty Dog treat. Once he is comfortable with brush around reward with dog treat so that he can cooperate during the process.

Step 3: Brushing Gently

One the Dog is comfortable and relaxed, start brushing lightly and gently on shoulder and chest areas. If they are calm reward them with treat and gradually increase the brushing time and number of strokes. Extend to other parts of the body while brushing in the direction of the hair growth. Repeat this process two or three times till the dog becomes completely comfortable with it.

If there are any mats, tangle or knots then do not put force to remove them as it may cause pain and discomfort. Mats and Tangles should be carefully removed with right kind of scissors.

Brush occasionally in direction opposite to hair growth to check the skin condition and occurrence of ticks, fleas and dirt.

This process might take more than one day as initially the dog might not get comfortable with it so owner must halt the process and continue on other day. Rewarding each time can make some stubborn dog comfortable within few days.

Note:  This whole process should be done calmly and using soft hands. If dog is not cooperating than one should not show any kind of aggression as it might lead to development of bad behavioral traits in dogs. If after trying different brushing technique the dog is not cooperating than the final solution is to consult a local Veterinarian or groomer for better advise.

Step 4: Treat for good Session

It is very important that the dog enjoys the session. Initially keep the session small and gradually increasing the time session by session. To make it a pleasant exercise treat your dog with treat or peanut butter during the exercise and after completion of the process praise the dog and treat them with their favorite treat.

Facts about Dogs Nose - Boops and Bleps

A dog’s nose has two functions—smelling and breathing.

Your pup’s nose is a powerful device that guides him through his days in some pretty impressive ways. Dogs are natural masters of circular breathing. They keep air circulating all the time, without even working at it. When air enters a canine nose, a fold of tissue just inside splits the airflow into two streams. One flow is dedicated to smelling and the other is dedicated to respiration. Dogs have the ability to breathe in and out at the same time.

Dogs possess a sense of smell many times more sensitive than even the most advanced man-made instrument. It is between 10,000 to 100,000 times better than ours! While all dog breeds have an excellent sense of smell, dogs with short noses, such as bulldogs, have less space for scent-detecting cells than dogs with a longer snout. We humans breathe and smell through the same air passage in our noses. When dogs breathe, a fold of tissue separates the two functions of smelling and respiration.

Dogs are known to be man’s best friend You can show up looking like a mess, and your dog will love you. You can act like a jerk because you’re in a bad mood, and your dog will still love you, make sure you can conclude that your dog is better with you because you will love and care for your dog more than anyone else will.
